A first generation Nigerian-American, Iyeoka is a poet, recording artist, singer, activist and TEDGlobal Fellow. She has received massive attention as a result of performances at Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam, The Sullivan Honors Awards and the TBS Trumpet.

Iyeoka began her musical career by founding The Rock by Funk Tribe, and in 2004 she released her first solo full-length album of poem-songs.

Iyeoka released her second album of poetry and music in 2008, and then in 2009, she transformed her sound and songwriting approach as she began working with producer and songwriter David Franz. Together, Iyeoka and David formed and “electronic soul” sound.

In 2010, Iyeoka released her album, SAY YES, which features the “The Yellow Brick Road Song” which was featured in an episode of the highly-acclaimed HBO series How To Make It In America and is still being featured in the USA Network series “Fairly Legal”.

In 2011, Iyeoka was nominated for an Independent Music Award for her song “This Time Around”.

In June 0f 2016, Iyeoka released her album GOLD, an eclectic mix of afrobeat, pop, jazz, dance and rock.
